Books / E-Books / Book Reviews: Book Review. Some Fantastic Books ...

There is so much choice these days, that it is difficult to know which books you are going to like . There is a reason for this of course, and this is that with the development of self publishing, the book industry has now become decentralised from the large publishing houses, and this has opened the door for hundreds and thousands of new writers that before, would not have had a chance to sell to the general public.

The same thing has happened in the music industry, and this has had a huge effect on the way people go about buying music. With the growth of the internet, Cds are now down loaded in various formats, and it is possible to create your own albums by choosing songs you want, and discarding those that you don?t.

Because of the perplexity that now exists in the book industry. Here are some stories that I recommend, from writers you may not have heard of before.

September Blue, by John Tallon Jones, is issued in EBook format and is a relatively short novel in the style of Roddy Doyle? The Commitments. The book is set in the The 70?s and is about a young man?s efforts to climb the ladder of success in the music world. This is a very comical and well written book, that captures the mood of the time brilliantly. The hero of the tale , Dai Davies, has arrived in the London of the 1970?s in search of a Rock Band, but finds that the youth culture of the time is in meltdown, and that Punk Music is about to emerge in the ashes of the old supergroups, and change the music scene forever.

The Cipher Garden by Martin Edwards is a mystery thriller that will keep your attention until the very last page. The story is set in the beautiful and peaceful village of Old Sawrey in the Lake District. A man is killed in a most horrible manner with his own scythe, by a strange figure in a hood. There are a number of people suspected, but not enough evidence for the police to arrest anyone. The case eventually becomes an unsolved murder, and is filed away only to be reopened years later, when new evidence turns up. Detective Hannah Scarlet with the help of historian Daniel Kind dig deep in their quest to uncover the truth and find out some shocking facts that will change the lives of people in the village forever. This is a great read, if you like a book to keep you guessing as you try to solve the mystery.

If you don?t read any other Ebooks this year. Read these two, and I am sure you will not be disappointed.
