Mobile dating leads to more hook-ups?

No time to look for love sitting at your computer? More of us are getting comfortable with searching for romance on the go using our cellphones, especially if we're using a dating app that's on Facebook as well as the iPhone.

AreYouInterested is one of those apps, with more than 7.5 million monthly average users, as well as being in the "top 40" of all Facebook apps, according to research firm AppData.

SnapInteractive, the company behind AreYouInterested, surveyed and compiled data from 50,000 customers who use the app every day, and 61 percent of them said they are more likely to "hook up" on a mobile dating app than an online dating site. One reason may be the huge dating pool; another, that the app is free; most online dating sites are not.

Here's some other stats from SnapInteractive:

• Nearly 600 online dating profiles are viewed each minute on AreYouInterested.
• The average person "looks at 20+ online dating profiles" every day
  
• 47 percent of their "active" mobile user base is between the ages of 18 and 25.
• Nearly half of "daily active users" have "3+ dating sessions a day."

Those "daily active users" must have a few other apps as well if they handle more than 3 dating sessions daily: The "adrenaline" and "testosterone" apps, only available in the Human Mind App Store.
