However, it is a condition whereby the membranes that protect the brain in the spinal cord become infected, and the symptoms of fungal meningitis include fever, nausea and headaches. Meningitis is a severe health problem that can and does lead to death in certain cases, and anyone who has obtained a recent steroid injection and who has experienced any of these symptoms should seek medical attention immediately.
