Still need to paw though that stack of holiday catalogs on the kitchen counter to look for certain gifts? You might be able to whittle that pile down by using Google's Catalogs app instead, now out for Android tablets, and also available for iPad.
"Google Catalogs features more than 125 brands you know and love like Nordstrom, Williams-Sonoma, Nike and Sephora," wrote Abigail Holtz, business product manager for the Google Catalogs team, on a company blog.
"The app currently has over 400 digital catalog issues to browse across categories such as mens & women?s apparel, jewelry, gifts, gourmet, toys, kids, gadgets, sports & athletics and outdoor adventure."
Catalogs isn't only for browsing; a "single tap lets you find a product nearby or visit a merchant's website to make a purchase," Google says.
The app is a free download. For the iPad, visit the App Store; for Android devices, visit the Android Market. Android users will need version 3.1 or later of the Android OS; iPad users, version iOS 4.2 or later.
