Father of Amy Winehouse to Pen Book on Singer

Mitch Winehouse, the father of late singer Amy Winehouse, has sold the rights to a book he will right about his chanteuse daughter to the publisher HarperCollins.

The book is called Amy, My Daughter. 

It is currently slated for publication in summer of next year, with proceeds going to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which Mitch has also founded since her death.

The foundation will support charities that offer support or care to young people. Amy Winehouse’s dad and biggest fan will head its efforts in the years to come.

While he was obviously unable to save Amy from her demons, Mitch was not one to coddle his little girl, or mince words about the issues she struggled with.

In the 2.5 months since she passed, he's been outspoken about her musical legacy, but also how young people must avoid falling victim to Amy's addictions.

He's also had some harsh words for Blake Fielder-Civil and praised Amy's last boyfriend, Reg Traviss. It will be interesting to see what his book will entail.
