Gas prices drop again in Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Gas prices have fallen in Rhode Island by six cents.

AAA Southern New England reported Monday that the average cost of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the state is $3.58, down six cents from a week ago.

Local prices have fallen 12 cents in the past month, but they are still 24 cents above the national per-gallon average of $3.34.

A year ago at this time, Rhode Islanders were paying an average of $3.38 a gallon.
